What's The Reason Nobody Is Interested In Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a frequent and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they're connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will boost its damage absorption. However, it's important note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades available in the game, and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges to use, which is shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire based on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also affect the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons also have special enhancements that enhance their intrinsic capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
The majority of upgrades to weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These are obtained through either doing side quests, or killing a certain number of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. Instead, you're better off going to stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a higher chance of granting you the highest level of advantages and benefits.
To increase their level quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to boost their strength. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, in which you combine the gemstone with specific reagents on a table. The higher the grade of the gemstone is, the greater its secondary effect. item upgrade can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the level the jewel is in when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons or other gear.
All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. However, you can only replace a jewel in an equipment piece only once.
Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it more smooth and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the jewels create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.
In addition to the upgrades mentioned above, the player can also get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets can provide your hero with various small, but useful, benefits. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through doing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket that a player can unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. Then, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player acquires armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the lack of a good team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is true especially if you're looking to upgrade several stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat than two less important ones.
At the beginning of the game players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their trinket to a red in the middle and top players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
In addition to the items listed above, players will discover other trinkets in form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing a chapter’s main quest or defeating the boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
